LOT Airlines

We are one of the 12 longest existing airlines in the world. We set out on the first cruise with passengers in 1929 to successfully implement the mission of a global air carrier today.

We offer you comfortable and safe journeys on board one of the youngest and most technologically advanced fleets in the world. Thanks to our extensive network of flights, we reach the farthest corners of the world, connecting Warsaw with airports in Europe, North America and Asia.

History of LOT

Discover the history of LOT Polish Airlines and see how we have spread our wings over the past nine decades! Today, we proudly connect Poland and Central and Eastern Europe with the world – flying to over 100 destinations on 4 continents.

The sign of the crane in flight has been around since 1929 . In 1931, we began our journey together. Since then, we have taken to the skies together, being one of the oldest and most experienced airlines in the world.

Our first flight schedule consisted of a sheet of paper with the national flight network drawn on it, with the days, times of take-off and landing, and the types of aircraft that served the connection.
The first fleet consisted of just over 20 aircraft, which mainly operated domestic flights.

However, already in the 1930s, we began to broaden our horizons. We made our pioneering flight over the Atlantic – from Los Angeles to Warsaw. We were also admitted to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), in which we were given the code LO .
