In a recent address in Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern warning against what he referred to as the “Ghamandiya alliance,” expressing concerns about its impact on Sanatana Dharma, a fundamental aspect of India’s cultural heritage.
PM Modi’s Address in Madhya Pradesh
Speaking in the poll-bound region of Bina, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated significant developmental projects and used the platform to caution the public about the ongoing Sanatana Dharma row and its implications.
He emphasized that the members of the “INDIA alliance” appeared to be intent on erasing the essence of Sanatana Dharma, which has been a source of inspiration for iconic figures like Swami Vivekananda and Lokmanya Tilak.
Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Controversial Remarks
The controversy surrounding Sanatana Dharma began when Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, made contentious statements during a Sanatanam (Sanatana Dharma) Abolition Conclave organized by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Forum. Stalin likened Sanatana Dharma to diseases like the coronavirus, malaria, and dengue, asserting that it should not be opposed but eliminated.
He went further, claiming that Sanatana Dharma perpetuates inequality and social injustice by dividing people based on caste. These comments led to the registration of an FIR against him and Congress leader Priyank Kharge under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
PM Modi’s Concerns
Prime Minister Modi used this opportunity to express his concerns regarding the “INDIA alliance,” stating that it lacked a clear leader and appeared to harbor a hidden agenda aimed at attacking India’s cultural heritage, particularly Sanatana Dharma.
He emphasized that the alliance’s intentions were not limited to mere criticism but extended to the destruction of this ancient way of life. PM Modi urged the citizens to be vigilant and prepared for potential future attacks on Sanatana Dharma, calling on all “Sanatanis” and those who love the country to stand guard.
A Glimpse into the G20 Summit
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the success of the recent G20 summit, attributing it to the collective power of India’s 140 crore citizens. He noted that the delegates at the summit were impressed by India’s rich diversity and heritage.
Concluding his address, PM Modi stressed the importance of transparent governance and the need to combat corruption for the growth and development of both states and the nation as a whole. He pointed out the historical challenges that Madhya Pradesh had faced and praised the transformative changes brought about under BJP rule, including improved infrastructure and access to electricity.
As the Sanatana Dharma controversy continues to stir debate, the nation remains watchful, heeding the Prime Minister’s call to protect India’s cultural heritage.
